Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster 12-volt auxiliary outlet. But before we get into that, let's take a minute, check it out and talk about what you can use it for. With this kit, it's just your standard round, cigarette style 12-volt outlet, and it's gonna be capable of 20 amps, which is actually pretty high. And so, it's going to be compatible with a lot of the portable style braking systems like our Blue Ox Patriot here. more

Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Spark- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster 12-Volt Outlet Kit on a 2020 Chevrolet Spark. Now this 12-Volt Outlet Kit is a great way to be able to run a 12-volt power source to something like a mobile braking system like we have here on our Blue Ox Patriot. This vehicle does require the battery to be disconnected while in flat tow mode, but you still need that 12-volt outlet to be able to get power to the braking system. So we ran this separate one here, making it easy to plug in, and also run directly to the battery. So even when the battery's disconnected, you still have that power going to your braking system. more

Kevin So this RV charging center is gonna be a great way to power your electronics, charge your phone, run any 12 volt appliance that you have, maybe you have a Furrion or a Voyager RV camera system and you've set it up to be wired for observation and you want to use your monitor inside of your RV or your camper. I tend to have a lot of people ask this question: "Hey I've wired my camera to observation and I want to have a monitor in my bedroom that way if anything's going on at night I don't have to actually get out of my camper. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit here on a 2019 Buick Envision. So our 12 Volt Outlet Kit is gonna be required when we're using a portable braking system on our flat towed vehicle. Now a portable braking system is one such as the Blue Ox Patriot. It's gonna sit inside the driver foot well there and press on the pedal, using bracing from the back of the seat. And the reason we need a 12 Volt outlet kit for this braking system, is that the 12 Volt outlet in the center console there of the vehicle, is actually not powered while it's in tow mode. So I'm sure you've probably looked in there, found that and wondering why you need this kit if you could just simply plug your braking system into that. more

Hi there, Buick owners. Today on your 2020 Buick Envision, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install a 12-volt outlet kit. A 12-volt outlet kit is going to give you a 12-volt source to power any of your accessories. And oftentimes, when you're setting up a vehicle for flat tow, the 12-volt outlets that are on your vehicle may only have power when you're. Got your vehicle running and you're driving it, but when you placed it into flat tow mode, they're no longer powered up, which does limit the braking systems that are available to you. If you're planning on using a portable system that requires a 12-volt outlet, you're going to need one that's powered all the time, even when you're flat towing, to operate that system.We put one on our Envision here today just for that reason, so they can use their Blue Ox Patriot braking system, and that's probably the most common application for this 12-volt outlet. more

Now one of the reasons why you may want a 12-volt outlet kit, is if you want to flat tow your Silverado because once you start doing some research, you'll find out real quickly that your Silverado is going to have to have the battery disconnected or at least have the power cut off to flat tow it. And it's all fine and good, but if we have the power cut off, there's no way to get power to our braking system especially if it's a portable system. The outlet kit is going to allow you to get that power even with the truck off.Right now we have our truck with the battery disconnected and you can see, it's not getting any kind of power, the dome light's not on and my ignition's not coming on. more

Today on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road Master 12 volt outlet kit, part number RN-9332.So here's what our 12 volt outlet kit is going to look like once we have it installed. We decided to tuck ours away underneath the dash, that way it's out of the way, but still accessible when we want to plug something in. This is going to provide us with 12 volts of power, whether the key is on or off. Which is going to be great for powering a portable braking system, whenever we flat tow our Jeep.Now we do have a 12 volt built into the dash, however, this is only going to get power when the key is in the run position, which isn't really going to help out a lot when we're powering our portable braking system, because the key is going to be off in our Jeep.Our kit is going to come with five feet of wires, so we can route it from the inside all the way to the battery. But keep in mind, it's probably a good idea to pick up some extra wire, plug connectors and ring terminals, because we we're just a little bit short on reaching the negative terminal on our battery.The instillation is going to be extremely straight forward. Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Honda CR-V we're going to be installing Roadmaster's 12 Volt Outlet Kit, part number RM-9332.This 12 volt outlet kit is going to give you a quick interface to work with your typical automobile auxiliary connectors. You can hook it up however you'd like. You could have it so it's powered all the time regardless of your ignition switch position, or you could wire it up to one of your ignition switch positions, whether it be accessory or run position. Depending how you have it wired up, it can be used for a lot of different things. Currently, ours is wired up to be powered all the time, and we're using it in our flat tow setup to ensure that our braking system always has power and is operational.Now, there are some other things you may want to use it for. Let's say you've got a set of seat heaters that you installed in your vehicle, aftermarket seat heaters that run off these, and you want inaudible 00:00:51 seat heater make sure that it turns off when you shut your vehicle off so it doesn't drain your battery. more

This includes phone chargers, braking systems, or any of your other accessories. The kit come with a mounting bracket, as well as the outlet itself and all the wiring you need to plug it up. Speaker 1: Today on this 2012 Jeep Liberty, we'll be having a look at, and showing you how to install the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, part number RM-9332.This is great for supplemental braking systems that need to have a constant source of power, such as ones that are portable that you plug in and remove from the car, and you can swap between vehicles. Those typically need a 12 volt outlet in order to work properly. A lot of vehicles out there, such as this one, when a key's not in the ignition, the factory power outlet doesn't have any power going to it, so you won't be able to use it properly when your vehicle is in tow mode. Our 12 volt outlet has a built in fuse holder in the wiring harness. It already has a fuse pre-installed. This is great, so if you have an overload situation, you don't want to worry about your wires getting overheated and potentially causing an electrical fire. more

Today in our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we will be having a look at and installing the Road Master 12 Volt outlet kit, part number RM-9332. Here's what a 12 Volt outlet kit looks like installed. As you can see, it mounts cleanly up out of the way, underneath the dash giving us a place to plug in our portable breaking system if we're flat towing our vehicle behind our motor home. Now, this 12 Volt outlet being hooked directly to the battery, gives us a constant 12 Volt source of power, so we don't have to have the key in the ignition. In the vehicles power outlet, it has to have the key in the on position in the ignition in order for it to be on. Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler, we'll be having a look at and installing the Roadmaster 12V Outlet Kit. Part number RM-9332. Here's what a 12V outlet kit looks like installed. This is a great solution for adding a permanently powered 12V outlet into your vehicle. That way if your normal 12V outlet in your vehicle only comes on when the keys on, you can still charge your accessories with the key out of the ignition. We're going to use a phone charger here to demonstrate. With no key in the ignition, we have power, so we can charge our phone, run a portable braking system, or what other 12V accessory that has an outlet plug like this. With our phone charger plugged into our factory outlet right here, you can see there's no power on until the key is in the run position on the car. more

Optronics 12 Volt DC Outlet Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Optronics Marine Grade 12 Volt DC Outlet, rated at 150 watts and 12 amps; part number A-101M. To assist with the installation, in order to lengthen the wire, I'm going to be using some 16 gauge wire, Part number 16-1-1. I'm going to be using the Deca Heat Shrink Butt Connectors for 14 and 16 gauge wire; part number DW05744-5. Then also going to be using 2 ring terminals, part number DW05705-1. Here's what it looks like once it's installed on t vehicle. As you can see it can be tucked up nicely out of the way, but it does a good job with the little cap that snaps over the top to provide 12 volt power wherever you may want to mount this so that you've got it. You can use this in your car, such as on this application. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, rated at 20 amps, part number RM-9332. Here's what this 12-volt outlet is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it comes down from inside this fuse panel, and that makes it nice, because it's very easy to tuck away so that it can't be seen and isn't always visible. Then you can bundle it up, and you can use a zip tie or rubber band if you'd like. You bundle it up, and can just tuck it away when not in use, and that way, your vehicle maintains a very clean look. In this vehicle, since it's going to be having a portable braking system, it's right there and easy to access whenever you need it. Now, this is also very useful if you just want an extra 12-volt outlet in the vehicle for charging a phone or something like that. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Sonic were going to be taking a look at and installing the 12-Volt Outlet Kit rated at 20 amps, part number RM-9332. Heres what the 12 volt outlets going to look like once its installed on the vehicle. As you can see, weve got nice easy access to it, and weve got that in order to use our portable braking system with it because the outlets on that car do not have power when in tow mode, so we need this in order for our portable braking system to be able to function. This outlet connects directly to the battery so we can make sure that we get direct power and were not trying to fight through any fuses that may or may not get shut off when in tow mode. This outlet is nice and simple to use. As soon as you plug something into it youve got power. Even if you need an extra outlet on your car this will work perfectly for that. Its nice and easy to tuck out of the way or when not in use you can simply bundle it out. more

Here's what it looks like once it's installed. This will be a great additional outlet, should you need an outlet for a supplemental braking system that plugs into a 12 volt outlet or if you're going to put a spotlight, some kind of emergency light, or a cell phone. You can locate this anywhere this in your car you'd like, as long as it's on the inside of the vehicle and it's going to be good for up to a 20 amp drop. There's going to be a very simple install. You're going to have a ground wire and you're going to tap into a fuse that's hot on your vehicle at all times. This is going to give us constant power even when our battery's disconnected in tow mode so you want to make sure if you leave something plugged in there, it can run your battery low so keep an idea of what you've got to have plugged in there. more

Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2010 Honda CR-V- Video
Today on our 2010 Honda CRV we'll be taking a look at installing the 20 amp 12 volt out-leg kit, part number RM-9332. Now we have our 12 volt power ready to use whenever we need it for our auxiliary braking system for our towed vehicle. Now when we don't have any use you can put it up here in the holder or we can also place it down back underneath the back side of the stream panel making sure that it doesn't fall down while we're driving. On one end we're going to have our fuse and spade connector and on the other end we're going to have to make ground around that ring terminal there. Both of the pieces that we're going to need are going to be included in the kit. So right now we're going to find a fuse that has power going through it so we can run our constant power towards our 12 volt circuit. So go up underneath the dash and locate that fuse panel that's sitting right here right above this kick panel on the side. Now we're just going to locate a fuse, it gives us the ability to draw power when our key is not in the ignition. more

Today, on 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to show you 12-volt outlet kit from road-master, part number RM-9332. Now this is good for a variety of applications. In this case, this vehicle need a future upgrade to a supplemental braking system that requires it's own power supply from the battery. With this part number this is what you get. You get the wire horse, with the outlet for your 12-volt accessories, and the other end that goes to your ground, and your fuse holder right here. This comes with small self tap screw for the ground, and this is also a fuse tap. For a lot of instances, you actually tap into the fuse box to get power from. Basically, that connects up to circuit as power constantly with the key on or off. Now, on our install we are actually going to run this straight to the battery. more

Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Focus we'll be installing the Roadmaster 12-volt outlet kit, part number RM-9332. Now for our application we're adding a 12-volt outlet for a supplemental braking system so we're going to mount it near the kick panel on the driver side. Now with our additional 12-volt outlet, whether using it for your supplemental braking system or you could plug in phone charger, GPS, or really any 12-volt operated device up to 20 amps, such as a light. Here we have our 12-volt outlet and our ground and positive cables. We're going to go ahead and route them over an impact bar next to the interior light and then towards the firewall. Now once I have it in position I'm going to go ahead and secure it with a zip tie. I'm going to cut off the excess from the zip tie to get it out of the way and clean up my install look. more

Optronics 12 Volt DC Outlet Installation - 2013 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2013 Ram 1500 we'll be installing the Optronics 12-volt DC outlet, part number A-101M. We'll be using the Tow Ready in-line fuse holder, part number 18167-1. To extend the length of the wiring from our 12-volt socket we're going to use Deka 16-gauge wire, part number DW02359-1, and the Deka black power wire, part number 16-1-1. Connecting the extra length of wire to the pigtails from our 12-volt supply we'll use the Deka 16-gauge butt connectors, part number 05731-5. Here's our new Optronics 12-volt power supply. We're going to mount the 12-volt power supply here on the driver side so that it's accessible per an added supplemental braking system. Now to connect it we'll need to make the wires longer so that we can route them directly to the battery for power and ground. more

Today on our 1998 Freightliner Motorhome, we're going to be installing the Obtronics 12-volt DC outlet, part number A-101M. Next, we'll go through the operation of our new 12-volt supply. With all our connections made, we can go ahead and check our new outlet. First, we'll open it up, plug in our 12-volt source, turn the ignition key on, and we have power. To make our electrical connections for power and ground, we're going to utilize some pre-existing pigtail for power. Here on the driver's side of the steering column, up underneath the dash, you'll see a red and white pigtail. more

Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be installing the Roadmaster 12V Outlet Kit, part number RM-9332. Our 12V kit will ultimately get installed and secured to the battery. For this application, the battery is located under the passenger seat. If we lift up on the battery cover to get to the back half of the battery, we're going to go ahead and move the seat all the way forward and towards the dash. Release the cover and set it aside. You can see we've now exposed the battery. We're going to go ahead and open up the console, the lower portion of our console here. We can remove the rubber liner. more

Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today in this 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab we're going to install part number RM-9332. This is a Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit ready for 20 amps. To help us install this part we're also going to use a couple other part numbers. We'll be using snap bushing part number SWC8055. We're going to need to extend our wires as well, so we'll be using part number 12-2-1 the jacketed two wire brake wire in 12 gauge. Now the first thing we need to do is go ahead and get access from the inside to the outside. To do that we're going to go ahead and drill a hole behind our carpet here or just above where our parking brake cable goes through the body. more

All right, today in a 2014 Honda CR-V, we're going to install part number RM-9332. This is 12-O outlet kit, ready for 20 amps. Right now outlet kit is designed to work with the fuse panel. In this case we're going to use a fuse that's underneath the dash. If you're in a vehicle set up to be pulled behind an RV, we'll go ahead and look for a fuse. Now in this case, our key will be in the first notch when you turn it. So, we'll go ahead and use a fuse. In this case, we're going to test fuse number 14, which is easy to get to, and it's just your seat heaters. more

Speaker: Today in our 2010 Chevrolet Equinox well be installing the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit part number RM-9332. Note, thisll be a supplemental outlet kit that could be used for a variety of things, but for this application well be using it for a braking assist on a towed vehicle. This will allow the supplemental power supply to have battery power when the vehicle is not in use. Well move inside the vehicle. Well be mounting our power outlet on the drivers side near the kick panel, just below the dashboard and interior paneling. The power wire will get run over to the passengers side, where we can install it into the fuse box, and the ground can stay here on the drivers side. Theres a manufacturers ground above the parking brake actuator and kick panel. more
